Changing your Nevada Registered Agent

Occasionally, it may become necessary to change your Nevada Registered Agent service provider. Fortunately, the process can be broken down into several quick and easy steps.

Step 1 – Locate a new Registered Agent

This is the most important step in the process. If you are looking for a new agent, chances your last agent didn't live up to your expectations. So be sure to take a bit of time, look up several companies and find the one that's going to be able to meet all of your needs (of course, we are always happy to work with you here at Nevada Business Services).

Step 2 – Fill out the Change of Registered Agent Form

Once you have selected your new Registered Agent, the next step is to fill out the Certificate of Change of Registered Agent form provided by the Nevada Secretary of State.

Depending on the Registered Agent you have selected – you may or may not need to do this personally. For example, at Nevada Business Services, we will fill out the form on your behalf. All you will need to do is sign it, and send it back to us. We take care of everything else.

On the off chance that your new Agent will not complete the form for you – you will need to get them to sign the document before you you submit it to the Nevada Secretary of State for processing.

Step 3 – Submit the form for processing

Once you have selected your new agent, filled out and signed the Change of Registered Agent form, the last step is to submit the form along with the filing fees to the Nevada Secretary of State for processing. You do this via regular mail, email, or fax – which ever method you prefer.

The agent you select may or may not handle the filing process for you – at Nevada Business Services, we are always willing to file documents on your behalf.

Fees

Of course, there are fees associated with changing your Registered Agent. Currently, the Nevada Secretary of State charges $60.00 each time you make a change.

Most Registered Agents will also charge for their services. At Nevada Business Services, our Annual Registered Agent fee is $85.00 – BUT – for all companies changing over to our services we discount our first year fee to $50.00. We do this to offset the additional filing fee imposed by the Secretary of State, and because we want to make this a win-win situation for your company and for ours.
